Small Diamond Majors/Centrals/AAA Tryouts will be held at the Vining fields on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th from 8:30AM to 1PM
Tryouts are individual and last about 3-5 minutes per player (there will likely be a line so please plan accordingly)
While we ask players to try and come in their assigned slot, we know that many have other ongoing activities. If you come anytime between 8:30 – 1:00, you will be able to try out. If you are under significant time pressure, please let us know when you check in. Tryout times and important guidelines are included below.
We strongly encourage everyone to try out as it helps us not only to get players into the most appropriate divisions but also to balance teams in each division.

WHO SHOULD TRYOUT:
All players who will be between the ages of 9 and 12 for the 2026 baseball season except for those players who played on a MAJORS division team in the spring 2025 season. AGES ARE BASED ON PLAYERS AGE AS OF AUGUST 31, 2026
TRYOUT LENGTH:
The individual tryout, itself, lasts just a few minutes – players will likely hit off the tee, run from home plate to 2nd base, field ground balls and field fly balls. Once the player finishes their tryout they are free to go. While the tryout itself is short, we typically do have a line of players so please plan accordingly.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING TO THE TRYOUT?:
Players should be dressed in baseball attire including baseball pants (or sweats) and a baseball cap. If possible, we recommend players do not wear shorts. Players should bring their baseball bat and glove to the tryout. We suggest cleats as they will be running bases. (Soccer cleats work just fine)
IF YOU DO NOT ATTEND TRYOUTS:
If the player is 11 or 12, they will not be eligible to be drafted to the MAJORS division and will default to the Centrals division. If the player is 9 or 10, they will not be eligible to be drafted to the MAJORS or CENTRAL divisions. Even if you do not want to play in the upper divisions, we strongly encourage you to tryout so we can ensure proper team placement and allow for balancing of teams.
If players do not attend tryouts, division placement will be at the discretion of the Board and will likely be the lowest age appropriate division.
AGE RANGES FOR 2026 Spring Baseball Season:
Age 12: Born 9/1/2013 - 8/31/2014
Age 11: Born 9/1/2014 - 8/31/2015
Age 10: Born 9/1/2015 - 8/31/2016
Age 9: Born 9/1/2016 - 8/31/2017
REGISTRATIONS:
We will open registrations for the Spring 2026 season on or about October 1. All players will need to be registered and paid PRIOR to the Majors draft, which will likely occur in early December. You do not need to be registered to tryout.
CANCELLATION:
If we must cancel due to rain, we will post the announcement on the Billerica Little League website by 7:30AM on Saturday.
WHAT IF I HAVE A CONFLICT IN MY ASSIGNED TIME SLOT:
You may attend tryouts at any time between 8:15 AM and 1:00 PM. We ask you to please try and attend in your time slot, if possible. We may have a makeup tryout but that is TBD
EXCUSED MEDICAL ABSENCES:
If your child can not tryout due to an injury, you must email the President (president@billericalittleleague.org) prior to the tryout.
